I've used both an IR scanner ( the type the fire departments use in       smoke filled fires ) and my own home made laser radar at area 51 and       TTR many times.              the only interesting things I've ever found with the IR scanner       were the plumes ( for lack of a better way of saying it )       from many of those hidden tunnel vents ( most of them on the EAST       side of the alien highway , btw ) and the hot exhaust flumes from       those cammo duce patrol vehicles.              .... and with the laser radar ( lidar ) I got slightly better       resolution views of some of the " stuff " parked around the hangers       etc. not a LOT better, however. I did experience " something "       that left a " puffs " exhaust ( con ) trail once ....... it was       moving at " extreme " speeds and got FAR away fast and was       hard to keep in the finders ......... it happened and was over       quickly ........ probably something interesting ..... but who knows       .....              interestingly enough, I've learned that you ( a person ) could       probably discover new and interesting information with these two       tools .... BUT .... it boils down to having the right " stuff " in the       right place at the right time. mostly ( unfortunately ) you'd have       to be able to " hang " there in the advantageous places .....       in advantageous times .. otherwise ... it's crap shoot with most of       your efforts wasted due to poor timing etc. . " they " take a lot of       care to insure there are few or no observers when they are       into " sensitive " activities ...... and generally it'd be hard to lie       around out there in the desert , in the winter , freezing to death       waiting for s*** to happen.              it's a great thought with lots of potential ...... but in every day       reality ...... VERY hard to implement. if you spend 100s of manhours       " looking " , you'd be lucky to get a few minutes of useful reward       ..... so it seems to me, or maybe I'm just unlucky finding events.       jha ha ha ha hah aa                     k.....................                                                        On Fri, 04 Aug 2006 21:48:57 +0100, Robster |
