   ye ha doggie .....!!!

it's like chain thunder / series sonic booms. it's very
attention getting . fast ? ......... I did say you only have "
moments " to look for it before it's gone. I've seen missiles that
didn't seem to disappear that fast ( course they were going " up " and
not across ) . you notice the sonic booms sound , it rises up a
bit and then very suddenly ( way sooner than you expect ) it tails
off to nothing ....... you're not even sure where it came from ....
just , generally, the direction it went .

it's the actual point of my first post . THIS thing is probably
faster than anything you have seen before and makes sounds like you've
never heard as well. at least , I've never heard anything like it
before . never saw a doughnuts on a string con trail ...... never
saw anything at all ...... my best guess is it was too high and
WAY ahead of the sound it was making or I couldn't keep up with it as
it passed. never saw hide or hair of it .... but you sure knew it
was up there . it's pretty much the same experience with the other
people that hear it. I've heard it go " out " ( due west ) twice
but never " back " . same with the people over in California
.... they've heard it several times , always heading west !
usually at about 2 - 3 in the morning !

the 5500 miles per hour is from the info in the link someone else
   posted in this thread ( mach 6 or 7 , I forget .. ) for the pulse
   jet

and the 85k alt ..... is partially from you ( you said they couldn't
legally fly it under 65k ) ......... add the sonic boom front and
it'd prolly need to be at least 20k or better higher not to mess
   with commercial carriers .........
