I believe the word is "experimental".

The rockets to the moon were purpose specific, while the shuttle is NASA's
'do it all' platform of today.

More computing power is not always better, for example many new cars must be
plugged into a dyno computer to talk tot he cars computer just to perform a
tune up. You should also consider that as accidents do occur, regulation,
triple-quad backup systems and all the other wonderful technologies make the
   same task more challenging.

   Fuel cells, not new technology.

   Bureaucracy.
Everything costs more, and more hands are in the governments pockets.

How long did it take for airplanes to evolve from prop to jet propulsion?
How long did it take marketable cars to evolve from gasoline to use propane?
   Hybrid electric?

   As who believes?
George's statement was correct, just look at the history of wars.

Better watch out, comments like that will lead the 4th reich to stalk you.
