   white vapor in the blue of the skies, and then those skies turned red.   
   The whole world trembled and shook.   
     We, watching, experienced vertigo. The darkness of the night fell   
   over the world. Black clouds, shot with vivid flames, rolled around   
   the whole globe.   
     Cities flamed briefly and were gone.
