I'm not sure I understand "not repeating". Is it       no longer in service? I would guess it's likely a good site       for any kind of comms.                     > I've done simplex before (pre-arranged mountain topping),       > but never weak signal in the blind. Start answering a few stations or calling       a few stations you can hear, let 'em know you're weak remote       and the hits will start pouring in.              40m was up and down yesterday, likewise 20.       But my little Yaesu 857 all band/mode and the       ATAS antenna (auto tune srewdriver) was getting       out on 100w from Phoenix to most parts of the       continental US. That antenna is about a 5' whip,       mounted on my van roof (or a tin shed roof       when I'm backyard remote).              Craig 'Lumpy' Lemke - n0eq              www.CraigLemke.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
