   I remember reading that they were fiddling with F18's with added Canards,   
   and variable directional exhaust ports, in order to improve turning   
   capability.  If you can change a aircraft's "predicted" flight path   
   (increase turn ratio, climb/dive increase/decrease) you make it harder for   
   the enemy to shoot down.  By the look at the first frames, it seemed to be   
   painted WHITE.  No self respecting stealth manufacturer would paint a plane   
   white.  But could be a test bed.  Plus operating in daylight....
