   Could you explain more? I didn't know there had ever been a statutory   
   ban on NHS medics prescribing heroin.   
      
   The prescription of methadone rather than heroin is not a cock-up. It's   
   designed to keep people addicted to hard drugs. Everyone interested has   
   known for years that methadone is more addictive than heroin.
