Which French law? Must be hard to prove murder in a French court then,
if causes of death are kept secret. It would be a strong defence,
wouldn't it, to argue that 'you can't prove that I strangled him,
because there's no evidence to show that he was strangled'. Especially
if the person had no 'close relatives'.

Of course French law doesn't always require that if a crime is alleged
to have been committed at a mortuary, involving one of several corpses,
then no information about how any of the people died is available to any
court, being available only to 'close relatives'. Don't believe
everything you read in the newspapers.

Some people would say they believed in the pink fairy from Alpha
Centauri if they thought it would help the 'royal' family. And some of
these really *would* believe in same.
