The intelligence shown by the insurgents over the last fortnight makes
me optimistic that the insurgency will continue to rise.

Unsurprisingly, the rulers are now making a big effort to protect
important sites in central Paris, e.g. the Eiffel Tower and the Champs
   Elysées.

There is a general recognition by the insurgents of a need to spread the
struggle a) to central Paris, and b) outside of France...

Just to mention another building... Generations of radicals have wanted
to say bye-bye to the Paris Bourse (stock exchange). I reckon that must
be under heavy protection too. Unfortunately it only suffered minor
   damage in May 1968.

Will the authorities be able to protect everything they want to protect?
   Will they hell!!

If anyone reading this thinks this struggle is primarily to do with
ethnicity, they should ponder the fact that these insurgents - if one
can talk of a 'tradition' in this context - are following the great
insurgent tradition that has reared its head many times among the poor
in France over the past 220 years, such as in 1848, 1871, and 1968.
