      XPost: uk.politics.misc, alt.politics.british, alt.conspiracy       XPost: alt.conspiracy.new-world-order, alt.america, alt.conspira       y.america-at-war       XPost: us.politics       From: oO@oO.com              Cuba hands over two field hospitals to IIMC-T to Pakistan       'Pakistan Times' Diplomatic Desk              ISLAMABAD: The Cuban government has handed over two field hospitals to the       Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMC-T).              A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed at an       impressive ceremony held here.              Cuban Ambassador-designate to Pakistan, Mr. Lie Ivan Mora Godoy signed the       MoU on behalf of the Cuban government with the IIMC-T, donating all the       equipment of the field hospitals located in Hattian Bala, Azad Jammu and       Kashmir, and Attar Shisha in the NWFP.              According to a press release issued here on Saturday, Hasan M. Khan, Deputy       Managing Trustee and Prof Chancellor of Riphah International University,       signed the MoU on behalf of the IIMC-T.              Speaking on the occasion, Godoy said soon after the October-8 earthquake,       the Cuban Embassy provided medicines and relevant equipment besides       establishing more than 30 hospitals in the quake-hit areas.              He said the Cuban government provided unprecedented help to Pakistan for the       last six months to ensure indispensable medical care to the victims of the       disaster-hit areas.              MoU with the IIMC-T              He said the Cuban government has signed the MoU with the IIMC-T to ensure       continued medical care to the affectees in the quake-hit areas.              He said the Embassy also shifted 14 patients to Cuba for advance treatment,       where those were recovering and soon will be back to Pakistan.              He said more patients will be shifted to Cuba and the Cuban doctors will       also impart modern training to Pakistani doctors to treat such patients. He       said Cuba had also announced 1000 scholarships in medicines for Pakistani       students.              Hasan M Khan thanked the Cuban doctors' team for providing timely help to       the earthquake victims. He added that the people of Pakistan will remember       this great service forever.              Lauding the Cuban doctors' meritorious services, he said the Cuban team was       the largest foreign mission ever to Pakistan which worked day and night with       commitment and provided relief to the earthquake victims.              He also paid tributes to a Cuban doctor who accidently lost his life in the       earthquake-hit areas during a relief operation.              He hoped that Cuban cooperation in the field of medicine will continue with       Islamic International Medical College Trust and Riphah International       University.              Later, Mr. Hasan presented shields of IIMC-T to the Ambassador-designate and       Cuban doctors.              The Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, Professor Dr Anis       Ahmed, Administrator IIMC-T Pakistan Railway Hospital Dr Umar Awwab Khan,       Dental Surgeon Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan, and a large number of Cuban doctors       attended the ceremony..              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
