   apartment was covered by photographers. So what sense would it make to   
   try to evade photographers on the way there?   
      
   For the record, the lie about him challenging the paparazzi to a race   
   was what was put out before the lie about him being drunk. There was   
   also the early lie that the speedometer 'needle' (which didn't exist)   
   got 'stuck' at over 120mph (the real speed as the car entered the tunnel   
   being around 60-70mph).
