   Why I oppose a pro-parliamentary Sylvia

In Sylvia Pankhurst's most radical period she was anti-parliamentary.

Anti-parliamentarism was presented as 'beyond the pale' by the bourgeois
media, and it still is now.

What an insult to Pankhurst it is, to speak of putting a statue of her
   outside parliament, in SUPPORT of

   - that shitty institution whose role it is to legitimise the
'government' (for many MPs in return for cheap cigarettes and relatively
small amounts of money in Channel Islands bank accounts.)

   - to legitimise that 'government', whose role it is to administer
certain bureaucratic and public-relations jobs on behalf of the real
government, the government of mass-murdering billionaire-bracket private
   business interests.

It is disgusting to think of a statue of her, supporting the foul
institution of parliament and presenting it as so responsive to radical
   popular criticism

Parliament is nothing of the kind. It is a part of the executive of the
State, just as the judiciary is. A State that is wholly owned by private
   interests, being their weapon.

For a time, Sylvia Pankhurst knew the above and said it.

If there is going to be a statue of her, it would be better if it showed
her firing a machine gun towards the houses of parliament.
