   I believe some opticians in the UK in the late 1990s were secretly   
   taking retinal info too. It's easy to get tinpot Nazis or 'professional'   
   money-grabbers to do their bit for 'security' and feel really cool when   
   they do so...   
      
   There was (is?) widespread secret 'IQ' testing in UK schools too...   
      
   A friend of mine did some covert investigation and was told by a school   
   secretary that goings-on with the whole 'Unique Pupil Number' (UPN)   
   system was (quote) 'very hush-hush'.
