   >
   > He isn't saying 'trust me'.

He is saying "trust the evidence I provide". Since he was/is the only source
for the a) pregnancy story, b) Diana's last words story, c) marriage story,
his credibility is very much an issue. "Banana" claims he is very good at
deconstructing propaganda, but when it comes to Fayed's propaganda, he fails
   completely. (See below.)

   >He's saying 'I want a proper inquiry'.

He got a proper investigation in France. At first Fayed stated that he
trusted it, but when the results, that he couldn't manipulate, turned out to
be not as he wanted them to be, he started sulking. At this moment he is
getting a proper inquiry in the UK. It looks like the British inquiry will
come up with the same results as the French investigation. Fayed and his
mouthpiece the "Daily Express" (or "Daily Diana" as it is commonly known)
try to confuse matters with the usual stuff. Fayed tries to influence the
gullible. His last line of defence will be, as one can deduct from his
latest outbursts, that the secret services (all of them, world wide) prevent
Lord Stevens from getting the correct information. "Banana" and other
gullible people believe Fayed, which means that his PR works for a certain
   group of people.

   >As for the idea that it was murder, he's right to say that most people in
   > the UK agree with him.

The "Daily Diana" once conducted what it called a "poll". People were asked
the question "do you think it was murder?" They could phone in. Most of the
readers who bothered, agreed with Fayed. This is Fayed's "evidence" that
most people in the UK agree with him. Not a proper poll, but Fayed
propaganda. It is a pity that a self-certified propaganda deconstructor like
"Banana" swallows Fayed's propaganda line. hook and sinker.

I'll let "Banana" in on a secret: most people in the UK don't care. Diana
died more than eight years ago, live has moved on.

Even if most people in the UK would agree with Fayed and "Banana", this
would mean little. Facts are important, not opinions. If one uses "Banana's"
methodology, one can reach some interesting results. "Banana" dislikes TV
and football. Most people in the UK like TV and football. Will "Banana"
   change his mind?
