World Cup - useful time for another 'ins

Nationalism in England is being whipped up by the tabloids and 'quality'
   press like no-one's business.

'The Sun' (the most widely read UK daily newspaper) encourages people to
fly nationalist flags on their vehicles and homes.

'The Guardian' encourages people to mimic 'dance moves' made by some
   footballer or other. (How 'intellectual').

When the England team plays, nationalistic fervour will hit fever pitch.

Anyone who has studied propaganda will know that where there is 'love
week', there is also 'hate week'.

And this time, it's unlikely to be Diego Maradona handling the ball.

They don't just want a 'community' of hypnotised TV watchers, eager to
pay lots of money for crappy (often harmful) products and clothes
   bearing adverts.

They want a 'community' of shit-scared xenophobic supporters of the
strong State. In conditions of permanent war.

It strikes me that the coming weeks might be a very useful time for the
'insiders' behind the massacres of 911 and 7/7 to carry out another
   murderous terror attack.

Think of the 'public relations' dividend.

   FOOTNOTE

For my discussion of a racist attack that took place at the time of the
   last 'world cup':

Since then, Iraq has been invaded, trains have been blown up in London,
   and things are much worse.

rest of your frigid life." (Mick Travis, 'If...', 1968)
