For someone who is in constant contact with MI5, you really don't       understand this secret agent conspiracy theory thing, do you?              Look, the biggest enemy of any secret agency - such as 5 or 6 - is not       the secret service in the other camp at all. Oh, no. Nor is it       international terrorism, or organised crime, or even paranoid citizens       who spam Usenet. No, your biggest enemy if you're an agent is the guy       from the _other_ secret agency in your own camp.       Think about it. What happens when you kill all foreign agents? You're       out of a job. Get rid of the poor schmuck whose sartorial tastes run to       aluminium, and you've got rid of your own career. But make the other guy       look foolish... ah, now you've just put a dent in the reputation of your       greatest competitor for all that juicy government funding, and probably       made your own street cred go up a notch, too.              So you're threatening to expose MI_6_, and you expect MI_5_ to lift a       finger to stop you? Come off it! You're doing exactly what they want.       That's not a threat - that's an invitation to harrass you even more.              Richard              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
