And as for the guy who told the UK government broadcasting ministry (and
a major plank of the British brand, which works closely with SIS
worldwide) that James Andanson had told him in front of a group of
people that if his wife had an affair he'd top himself by burning
   himself to death!

Did the BBC try to contact other members of the 'group' to comment? What
completely cackhanded disinformation! In fact, it doesn't really deserve
being called 'disinformation' in the first place. It reminds me of the
statement on behalf of 'Baroness' Butler-Sloss that the reason why the
press were going to be banned from preliminary hearings at the inquest
was that the room was too small to accommodate them!

Public-relations dudes must be cringing at this. Why such a crap job?

Can't the psy-ops people at SIS, e.g. at I/OPS, do better than this?
Yes, of course they can. So could loads of PR scum at various
   private-sector agencies.

My guess at why such a crap job is as follows...

...because officials, even public-relations ones, who are given direct
orders by the 'royal' family or 'palace' officials...tend to do what
they're bloody well told, even if they think it's all going to backfire.
Some clients they just can't tell to leave it to the 'professionals'!

Of course, one also has to recognise that no-one ever lost money by
underestimating the independence of thought of TV audiences...

I hope the widowed Elisabeth Andanson consults her lawyers! That guy was
very clearly implying that she was having an affair which drove her
   husband to commit suicide.
