|    Operation Paget and traffic cameras - ca    |
|    16 Dec 06 00:30:44    |
From: steuart@btinternet.com              "Out of the 17 surveillance cameras stationed along the route the Mercedes       took, not a single one worked that night!       The Al Fayed family did some research, and found that there were only two       instances up to that night when a single camera had failed to work during       an accident since the system had been installed. And yet       all 17 failed to function!"        The Assassination of Diana, Princess of Wales, Part 2        Kevin Warren, ACPD, Tues 30 Sep 1997               "that is one of the most suspicious things of all time because       it was the only time in the whole history of the traffic system in Paris,       that all 28 video traffic controls were not working, from the time they left       the Ritz, which is the last thing we got, there were three in the tunnel       itself that were not working, they were not functioning, they had not       functioned for about 20 minutes before they left the Ritz"              Simon Regan,'For the Love Of..' first broadcast on UK Channel 4       TV March 1998. Repeated May 1999.              This question must have been debated inside out. The conspiracy       thinkers were convinced that the lack of images were prima facie evidence       of skullduggery of the worst kind. Well, Operation Paget has       resolved this matter once and for all. As a result of its meticulous and       forensic investigation, we now know that the number of traffic camera's       on the route that HP took that night was precisely two and they were working       perfectly.              According to Paget Investigation,       "In addition to the three cameras on the place Vendôme frontage the Ritz       hotel also has two cameras pointing towards the rear exit by 38 rue Cambon.              By 42 rue Cambon a camera is trained only on the entrance to that building.              Numbers 35, 37, 39 and 41 rue Cambon, which house companies, hotel and       restaurant, are fitted with cameras trained only on the fronts of the       buildings.              The Hôtel de la Marine in the place de la Concorde has three cameras facing       towards the building.              A single camera is fixed to a lamp-post by the port de la Concorde, but it       is pointing towards the embankment on the right bank, towards the pont       Solférino.              There is no video surveillance of the roads along the voie Georges Pompidou       and cours Albert 1er.              Only the France 3 offices at 28 cours Albert 1er have a camera, pointing       straight at the entrance to the building.              In the place de l'Alma there is a camera attached to the top of the       lamp-post in the middle of the roundabout, pointing towards the voie Georges       Pompidou going towards Concorde.              After the Alma tunnel, there is no video surveillance system on the express       lane on the right bank embankment, the avenue de New York.              The only cameras visible are those looking over the roofs of the Palais de       Tokyo and they are only trained on the building itself.              On the place de Varsovie a camera attached to a lamp-post is pointed towards       the avenue de New York in the direction of the place de l'Alma.."              Lieutanant Gigou concluded,              "The surveillance cameras on the private and public buildings along the       route are only trained on the fronts of the buildings they protect."              Gigou tabulated aprox 16 camera's, 14 of which did not belong to the Paris       authorities and were privately owned. These cameras were observing the       buildings they were set up to protect. No reasonable person would expect       images of the Express way or the Mercedes.              Of the two traffic cameras, the one situated at the port de la Concorde was       pointing in the wrong direction, toward Pont Solferino, the second was       situated above the underpass in the Place de Alma. It was controled by the       Paris Urban Traffic Unit, which closed down at 11.00pm, had no night staff       and took no recordings. The images from this camera, could be       observed in real time, by officers at the Police Headquarters Information       and Command Centre, but they were unable to maninpulate the camera. Paget       notes further,              "There would be no reason for those in the overnight control room in Paris       to be viewing that camera in particular, before the crash."              The conspiracy designs surrounding Di's death, have been nourished in part,       by the lack of details from the French investigation. This secrecy has       endured as a result of Frances confidentiality laws. One of the great       accomplishments of Paget, has been the opening of the French files to public       scrutiny and bringing important details to light. There is no       better example of this than the questions surrounding the traffic camera's,       which I believe have now been resolved.              Geoff.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
