|    The "assassination" attempt.    |

From: ron_winn@lineone.net              In his rear view mirror Francois Levistre saw the Merc go left to right       towards the pillars. Obviously this is the movement that Paul is seen just       about to start from the now famous photo [left hand in the 12 o'clock       position] . This means that the Merc was in the right lane [the slower lane]       doing something like 50-60 mph. To be doing this speed the road up ahead       must have been empty of slow moving traffic. However whatever was up ahead       in the right lane caused Paul to steer into the left lane.              But why no lights? The rear would have been facing down the tunnel where FL       was and the rear lights were still on. Did FL see the rear of the car?       The pillion passenger would have only seen Trevor, who was alive and Diana,       who was on the floor on that side of the car facing the road. If James Huth       didn't see Diana how did the pillion passenger.       Did the assassination team think a flash was going to be all that was       necessary. Did it take a glance through the car window to tell whether the       job had been successful or not? Probably not unless Paul was the target and       it looked obvious he had been killed. If the job was simply to cause the car       to crash so that others might finish the job why did the pillion passenger       get off to look into the car. Why even stop? This simple job was obviously       done. Was Paul the target with knowledge that his airbag was going to do the       job efficiently after the explosive charge was set off.              Interestingly, the 280 did not have tinted windows and no pillion passenger       was going to see anything had it been the 600.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
