Perhaps the lack of responses to your question is due to the personal
nature of the question. These are a few realizations that I had
during and after my NDE. First, everything is interconnected at its
deeper level. There was such a feeling of oneness, love, and
compassion for all. Second, we are only aware of a very small
quantity of the true "reality". There is much more occurring than
most of us can comprehend. The change from the NDE was a change in
values and awareness. There was an immediate effect, but must of the
change has been the result of the seeking for spirituality that
   started after my NDE.

You mentioned metaphysics. We have discovered the that
electromagnetic energy is both a wave and a particle. What many
people do not realize is that we are both a unique soul, and at one
with the universal divine nature in the same manner as energy is both
   wave and particles.

The Holographic Universe was a very good book. You might also like
read The Zero Point field by Lynne McTaggart.
