   Just want to clarify if we are talking about the same thing (ie, is this   
   just a matter of perception or are you talking about something different).   
   In mine it was pitch black with nothing but anxiety and fear. It was   
   definately a NEGATIVE experience, not just a misty impartial place.  I have   
   had this twice now (8 years apart), in the first instance it made a lot of   
   sense, it was a negative situation, but the more recent time was during   
   childbirth. I'm a completely different person than I was 10 years ago (or at   
   least I thought I was), but it seems that the NDEs were identical.
