From: azmodiuss@nospam.yahoo.com              If you haven't read this book then you need to.       The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra is in it's 4th printing, first published       in 1975 by Shambhala Publications.       It describes for the layman how "what science is discovering about the atom"       is directly related to "what eastern mystics have always known". I am no       scientist but easily understood its clear style.       It can be quite a shock to realize that the I-Ching is a system of       probability almost exactly like the system of probability used in subatomic       physics to "guess" where a "hadron particle" will appear in the cloud       chamber at the end of a high energy physics experiment.              It seems to me that both scientists and mystics will enjoy this book.              Rene Descartes was the first to separate MIND and MATTER and since his time       in the 17th century the church has supported one view while science has       supported the other. This book shows that both views will eventually have to       wrap around and embrace the other or be lost. The Cartesian Split as it has       become known, is rapidly closing and those who cling to one side without       acknowledging the other are in for a rude awakening.              Having read this book I now have a far better understanding of myself and       the universe. We are the same stuff... all matter is intelligent energy.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
