   how many years do you think it takes to conclude that enough is enough   
   -- would you want to insist on maintaining life in the corpse of your   
   spouse after years of treatment if there was no response?   
      
   this guy spent years seeking treatment and trying different   
   interventions -- he now believes she is dead as a human i.e. her higher   
   brain functions are gone -- doctors agree -- there is nothing hasty   
   about this -- she has been this way for over a decade
