From: bdplikaytis@nspmbellsouth.net              If I understand your abbreviations you said you were on ecstasy? You saw the       image while in a drug-induced state? It is well known that certain drugs can       stimulate certain aspects of an NDE. Ketamine seems to be one that many       people talk about. One aspect of the experience to consider is whether it       unfolded in a clear and logical manner. Most drug induced experiences are       random and chaotic. NDEs tend to proceed along a given 'storyline' with       themes that are somewhat unique to the experiencer. Perhaps the most       significant criteria that most people would use to distinguish between a       real NDE and imagery that may 'look' and 'feel' like an NDE is to consider       the after effects. One of your after effects is that you remember the       experience long after it happened (if I read your post correctly). This is       one characteristic that separates an NDE from a dream - most people do not       remember details in dreams much longer than a day or so whereas NDEers       remember most aspects of their experiences years afterwards with crystal       clarity. One other after effect of a true NDE is whether it causes you to       reflect on your life and perhaps consider changing your temperament and       behavior in some positive fashion. Drug induced imagery that approximates an       NDE typically does not stimulate personal introspection on the part of the       experiencer.              --       Brian       --------------------------------------------------------------       respond to bdplikaytis@bellsouth.net                     "-X-" |
