It seems paradoxical to me that perfection can create       >imperfection...apparently some NDE's are "mistakes". So "God" or the       >"supreme reality" (whatever one chooses to call it) can screw up?              Perfection is boring. Imperfection makes life interesting.              Or, to look at it another way, you can't know what perfection is until       you've experienced imperfection. So I don't see a paradox in your first       statement.              I don't know of any NDEs that are themselves mistakes. There are numerous       instances where a person was told that it wasn't his time to die. That       doesn't make either the NDE or the clinical death a mistake. In fact, the       clinical death may be the gateway event that allowed the communication       experienced in the NDE. Hardly a mistake.              >#2. Also...the old philosophical question: "How can you be sure that       >you KNOW?" In other words, you could very well be presented with a       >stunning, beautiful picture during an NDE...but for all you know...it       >could be an elaborate hoax or deception painted by some diabolical       >entity....or it could very well be ultimate truth. You never know.       >Right?              To know something outside yourself, first you have to know yourself. Until       you know yourself, you can deceive yourself if you find the deception more       attractive than dealing with reality. You can be deceived by others if you       do not test what you are told.              The scientific method can be applied even to things that are labeled       "unscientific".              And once you know yourself, and your reactions, and your motives, you       discover that there is a core part of you that does know when something is       true.              >#3. You die...You do the "life review". You realize you've got a       >long way to go in order to merge with the ultimate reality. Wait a       >second! The ultimate reality or God or whatever, should be able to       >transform you instantly anyway without the bother of struggling       >through a gut-wrenching, heartless earth existence. The power of the       >ultimate reality is infinite..and yet it needs you to experience some       >inefficient, pathetic earth existence?              There is nothing so desirable at that ultimate state. To be shown it is to       want to be in it. But, to incorporate point #1, if we are imperfectly       suited to be in that state, then we must change. To have that change       thrust upon us would be no different than never having left the perfect       state to begin with.              We've set out from home with a purpose. To take our purpose away from us       wouldn't be a very loving thing to do.                     --       Reply address munged. You can figure it out.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
