I have to agree. The statement he made sounds a little self-centered
or self-focused, and over coming self-centeredness and self-focus is
one of the most difficult aspects of spirituality.

"Crossing over" is really pretty easy. The worst part is over coming
the fear of the unknown prior to crossing over, but this too is part
of the growth process. Everything eventually relates to
spirituality. This is especially true in relation to crossing over.

To prepare for crossing over is just a matter of developing Love and
compassion for all that exists. And the only way that I know to do
this is to transcend the ego and connect to that mystery within us
that some call unmanifest spirit, stillness, emptiness, or Atman,
others may call it the presence of the divine, Jehovah, Allah, the
Holy Spirit, the Great Spirit, Jesus Christ, or the Oneness of all
things. The name we use is not really that important. It's the
experience, relationship, or realization that really matters.

I like the way Dr. Weiss put it in the following quotes:

"Become more spiritual. Spend more time praying, giving, helping
others, loving. Volunteer and express generosity and love. Get rid
of pride, ego, selfishness, anger, guilt, vanity, and ambition. Spend
less time accumulating things, worrying, being in the past or the
future, hurting others, and being violent in any way."

   and:

"The kingdom of heaven is within. Stop seeking gurus, and instead
find yourself. Soon you will find your real home."
