I don't know the book in question, so I will talk about my understanding
   of these things.

Both of these aspects have to do with the power of the mind to create its
own reality. Or "environment" might be a clearer term. For example, if a
person is deeply involved with the Christian religion, it may be that he
_needs_ to see Jesus immediately after crossing over. Therefore, his
interpretation of the first spirit he meets is that it is Jesus.

The same sort of thing applies to the suicide aspect. The person ends his
life in the depths of despair. He is completely wrapped up in his
problems. He takes this mindset with him, not necessarily chained to the
consequence of his actions, but still lost in the despair.

In neither case is the misperception permanent. One gradually learns to
leave the perceptions of this world behind and see their situation, or
others, for what they are. The person who committed suicide learns that he
doesn't have to despair, and learns to free himself from the chains that
   he has perpetuated himself.

And of course my explanation reflects the fact that I am not particularly
taken with the "son of god" idea. But, without the limitations of time and
space, it would indeed be possible for one spirit to communicate with many
others all (apparently) at once. It is possible for one to receive a
"tour" in what we would think of as "an instant". Direct mind-to-mind
communication happens faster than you can imagine.

Returning to the question of George Ritchie's books, if you look them up
on Amazon.com, you will find several thoughtful reviews of them. Most
people seem to think highly of the man and his books.
