If the       transcendent really transcends, then it can not be described directly.       We must use the best tools we have which are always lacking. The       phase "at One with All that is" seems to fit the experience, but in       the end I don't think that it is non-duality or duality, it is really       beyond these concepts. The soul or self was at one with all, but       still there was a unique, individual soul that was having the       experience of Oneness. Both one and the One at the same time.              Joseph Campbell said that, "The best things can not be said. They       transcend thought. The second best are misleading, because they use       thought to refer to that which transcends thought."              The beyond the dual, non-dual concept may sound like describing       something as a square circle, but relate it to the nature of light.       If you look for a particle, you find that it is a particle. If you       look for a wave, you find a wave. It all depends on what you are       looking for. Someone said that, "we see reality not as it is, but       rather as we are."              Even in physics the current theories are that everything is this One       basic, vibrating energy in a infinite number of forms or       manifestations. This seems to fit the experience of many NDE's as       well as states described by mystics of every age predating recorded       history.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
