   The Law of Intestacy means that the State writes one for you and will   
   distribute your possessions according to this law. This means that you have

   your minor children and who will receive a special gift from your Estate   
   (for example your car, watch, etc). According to the Law of Intestacy, the   
   husband or wife does not get everything automatically. If there are   
   children, they have an immediate right to part of your Estate. And if you   
   are an unmarried couple, you should write a Will because unmarried couples   
   are not recognized by the Law of Intestacy and will receive nothing. Not   
   making a Will often causes many problems to family and friends, creating   
   financial hardship with frozen bank accounts at the worst possible time.   
   Sometimes it is even necessary to sell the family home, simply because no   
   Will has been written.   
      
      
      
   So why don't people make a Will? Sometimes it is out of ignorance, because   
   they don't know what will happen if they die "Intestate". Sometimes it is   
   because they are uncertain about the costs involved. Sometimes it is because   
   they need to take time off from work in order to visit a solicitor. For a   
   lot of people writing a Will is something they have been meaning to do for   
   years, but have just not got around to it. Whatever the reason is, everybody   
   should know they need a Will and it is difficult to suggest reasons for not   
   doing so. And whenever you have written a Will, it should be checked   
   regularly if it is still up-to-date.
