Drugs merely interfere with the functioning of your brain, impairing the
way you interact with the world. Nothing along the lines you wish to
achieve can be accomplished that way.

Parallel universes or no, reincarnation pretty much assures that you will
start over from scratch, not at the point at which you wish to make a turn
in your history. (Some talk about "walk-ins", but I have no basis to give
   credibility to that idea.)

That feeling of nostalgia is also your key to this issue. You need to study
that feeling, immerse yourself in it, discover what it is trying to tell
you. Common reasons for nostalgia include something missing in your life at
the present time, a regret you carry with you, unfinished business... or
something else. Only you can know what it is that you're longing for. And
you will have to do the work of paying attention to your feelings to
discover the real roots of them.

If you don't discover and work out your reasons for the longing, you will
carry them with you and they will influence your next life. But most likely
not in a parallel fashion with this one.
