Nancy Kress wrote a story about people       routinely checking out their past lives (in a more advanced future), and       wisely pointed out that just on the basis of numbers alone, EVERYBODY has       been Chinese -- often. I knew this about myself during a trip to China,       in the course of which I had a very strong dream about being a very       young and rather nervous monk-candidate in a Buddhist monastery; nothing       fancy, just a glimpse, a night scene indoors, merging pretty seamlessly       with waking up completely disoriented in my dark hotel room. Checked it       out when I got home with a reliable psychic friend.              Not that the Chinese, whose culture has long been very xenophobic and       arrogant about it, would be particularly pleased to think about all the       generations of Chinese being riddled with souls that have come from lots       of non-Chinese lives and gone on to more of the same! I wonder what       kind of reincarnation work is done in China these days, if any, and       whether anyone there dares to suggest that a present day Chinese was an       Argentine horse breeder last time around, say?              C       --       Crow              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
