XPost: alt.paranormal, alt.paranormal.reincarnation       From: ssake@goldthread.com              There are a few problems with this logic:              1) they are finding a percentage, and I think way beyond chance. So first of       all, it is a real phenomenon, the only issue is the 100% standard you've       posed. "Not finding all" doesn't prove "not finding any" logically.              2) society has an amazing ability to ignore things that don't fit into its       world-view. The things thus ignored pass out of consensual social reality,       no matter how many times they are proven. Don't underestimate the phenomenon       of denial, either on the individual level or the societal level.              3) there may be rules about how much psychic ability is allowed to influence       world events. From what I've read, it isn't permitted to reach this 100%       standard. It also may not be allowed that people who are not ready, be       convinced by proof.              This is the paradox--worldly people who offer a million dollars are showing       their own mindset. If someone has genuine abilities, and you want to       sincerely know, if you go to them in humility and with respect, you may       personally learn something. If you go in with arrogance trying to bribe them       with large sums of cash, you will get what you already believe, i.e., what       you draw to yourself will reflect your own beliefs and your own readiness.              Steve S.                            "Dorian West" |
