XPost: or.politics, dc.politics, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       XPost: talk.politics.guns, sac.politics       From: noreply@dirge.harmsk.com              The husband of embattled Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer has been       banned from the department’s headquarters amid allegations he sexually       assaulted at least two female staffers inside the building.              In one instance captured on office security cameras, Dr. Shawn DeRemer       allegedly gave a woman an extended hug during work hours on Dec. 18, the       New York Times reported on Thursday.              The video is being reviewed by authorities as part of a criminal       investigation into the Portland-based anesthesiologist.              Sources familiar with the incident confirmed to The Post that DeRemer       was barred from the building and that a report was filed with       Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department.              DeRemer was banned the same week in late January that first lady Melania       Trump’s documentary film “Melania” premiered at the Trump-Kennedy       Center, according to sources familiar.              The police report, obtained by The Post, was made on Jan. 24 and notes       the complainant reported “sexual contact against her will” at the Labor       Department’s DC headquarters and that the incident is being investigated       as a misdemeanor sexual abuse case.              The women came forward in January amid an Labor Department inspector       general investigation into allegations of misconduct by Chavez-DeRemer       and two of her top aides.              DeRemer, 57, was banned from the building after the women raised their       concerns to the inspector general.              “If Mr. DeRemer attempts to enter, he is to be asked to leave,” read a       building restriction notice viewed by the New York Times.              The Labor Department, DeRemer and a lawyer for Chavez-DeRemer did not       immediately respond to requests for comment.              The Post first reported in January that Chavez-DeRemer was under       internal investigation amid claims she abused her position by pursuing       an “inappropriate” relationship with a member of her security detail;       drank in her office during the workday; and committed “travel fraud” by       having her chief of staff and deputy chief of staff “make up” official       trips to destinations where she could spend time with family or friends       on the taxpayers’ dime.              An alleged outing to an Oregon strip club Chavez-DeRemer took with staff       shortly after she was confirmed by the Senate is also under scrutiny.              The Senate Judiciary Committee has launched its own probe into the       allegations.              Chavez-DeRemer’s security man, chief of staff Jihun Han and deputy chief       of staff Rebecca Wright have all been placed on administrative leave.              https://nypost.com/2026/02/19/us-news/husband-of-embattled-labor-secretar       y-lori-chavez-deremer-barred-from-department-headquarters-over-sexual-ass       ault-allegations/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
