|    Virginia Gov. Spanberger Under Fire as D    |

XPost: va.politics, misc.immigration.usa, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       XPost: talk.politics.guns, alt.politics.democrats.d       From: larryparker@alt.net              Few cases in recent memory capture the cruelty and utter insanity of       liberal “sanctuary” and soft-on-crime policies like the tragic murder of       Stephanie Minter in Fairfax County, Virginia. Her death becomes yet       another ugly stain on the tenure of Democrat Governor Abigail       Spanberger, who has faced a withering barrage of criticism for running       as a moderate and governing as a far-left progressive.              On February 23rd, Minter, a 41-year-old mom from Fredericksburg, was       waiting at a bus stop when she was stabbed multiple times. Her alleged       attacker is Abdul Jalloh, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone with no       fewer than thirty prior arrests. (The charges were dropped almost every       time by Democrat prosecutors.)              Police say that the attack was random. Jalloh stabbed Minter multiple       times in her upper body and left her in the bus stop shelter. She was       pronounced dead at the scene.              That alone should be enough to outrage any decent American. Jalloh never       should’ve been in this country in the first place, and any of his dozens       of prior run-ins with the law – including charges for rape and assault –       should have resulted in his immediate deportation. The fact that he was       still in the United States more than a decade after he entered the       country in 2012 is a shameful indictment on both federal and local law       enforcement.              But the context of Jalloh’s horrific crime and what preceded it makes       Minter’s murder even more enraging.              Most appalling are the actions of Governor Spanberger prior to and after       Minter’s murder. As one of her first acts in office, Spanberger reversed       an executive order from former Governor Glenn Youngkin requiring local       police to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and       other federal law enforcement agencies – effectively turning Virginia       into a “sanctuary” jurisdiction for illegal aliens like New York or       California.              During her response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union       Address last month, Spanberger also smeared ICE officers as “poorly       trained federal agents” who have “ripped nursing mothers away from their       babies… sent children to far-off detention centers, and… killed American       citizens on our streets.” Those federal agents are the ones protecting       Americans from monsters like Jalloh. But Abigail Spanberger apparently       views them as the enemy and individuals like Jalloh as the victims of       government brutality.              To add insult to injury, after Jalloh was arrested for Minter’s murder,       Spanberger refused to commit to turning him over to federal immigration       authorities – meaning that he could be back out on Virginia streets as       soon as he serves his time for murder.              Spanberger claimed that ICE must have a signed judicial warrant if it       wants to detain Jalloh. But according to legal experts, ICE couldn’t get       a warrant even if they wanted to because Jalloh is currently only facing       state charges, not federal charges. Moreover, court precedent has long       held that an ICE detainer is more than sufficient for state and local       law enforcement to hand over a criminal to federal authorities.              “This monster is responsible for fatally stabbing Stephanie Minter. ICE       does NOT need judicial warrants to make arrests,” the Department of       Homeland Security said in a statement responding to Spanberger. “The       heroes of ICE will continue to arrest and remove criminal illegal aliens       across the Commonwealth while Governor Spanberger RELEASES them from       jails into Virginia communities to commit more crimes and create more       victims.”              It also turns out, according to excellent reporting from local       journalist Nick Minock, that Jalloh is actually quite well known to       local police in Virginia – but Fairfax County prosecutor Steve Descano       (one of the most infamous far-left prosecutors funded by money from the       Soros network) has repeatedly let Jalloh off the hook.              In fact, according to email records, the Fairfax County Police       Department warned Descano’s office not once, not twice, but three times       that Jalloh was a danger to the public. Last May, FCPD wrote that Jalloh       “has a long history of stabbing community members and is currently on       probation for doing that very thing. He has shown a blatant disregard              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
