   news articles, but nothing recent came up   
   After such a brutal crime like the attack on Diane and Fran's murder, I find   
   it hard to believe he was rehabilitated. I've just finished "Whoever Fights   
   Monsters" and got curious on Samples' status.   
   I hope that neither Fran's daughter, Diane or either of their families live   
   anywhere near Whitier, I can't fathom how awful it would be to live near   
   someone who took a life in a grotesque and violent way
