XPost: alt.gossip.celebrities, alt.politics.usa.republican, sac.general       XPost: alt.rush-limbaugh       From: bad-shooters@cops.usa              An NYPD sergeant has been placed on modified duty after shooting       and injuring a man he discovered at his house on Long Island as       he arrived home early Friday, according to police.              The shooting victim is a 29-year-old personal trainer who is       known to both the cop and the cop’s wife, who was inside the       Seaford, Nassau County home at the time of the dispute, law       enforcement sources told The Post.              The personal trainer suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot to       the chest in the shooting, which occurred outside the house just       after midnight, according to Nassau County police.              The incident stemmed from a personal dispute between the two       men, police said.              The 34-year-old sergeant, who is assigned to the 103rd Precinct       in Queens, told investigators that the younger man was wielding       a bat, according to police.              The cop was also taken to the hospital for observation. A bat       was recovered from the scene, sources said. The names of the       sergeant and the shooting victim were not released.              “He tried to kill my client — it’s attempted murder,” the       victim’s lawyer, Jason Russo, told reporters.              “I don’t see anything clearer. He shot him right in the chest.       He followed him, accosted him and shot him.              “From what I understand, he yelled out before he did that, that       he was going to kill him,” the lawyer said, declining to       elaborate on the relationship between the personal trainer and       the wife.              A neighbor told Newsday that she heard voices before the       shooting.              “I heard a little bit of talking next door. I heard his name       called a few times,” said Regina Noonan, 42, referring to the       officer. “Then we heard gunshots.”              Another neighbor, Emily Williams, 22, said she woke up when she       heard a man calling for help.              “He was saying, ‘Sir, can you help me, I’ve been shot,’” she       told the newspaper. “I just have this image of him walking along       the street.”              No arrests had been made by Friday night. The sergeant has been       stripped of his gun and relegated to desk duty as the shooting       investigation continues.              Additional reporting by Alex Taylor and Laura Italiano              https://nypost.com/2019/10/25/off-duty-nypd-sergeant-shoots-man-       outside-his-long-island-home/                      --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
