|    Believe Bolton? You cannot be serious    |

XPost: alt.gossip.celebrities, alt.politics.democrats.d, sac.general       XPost: alt.rush-limbaugh       From: drooney@gmail.com              In any sane world, being slandered by the likes of John Bolton       would be a badge of honor.              Unfortunately, we live in a world in which the same liberal       journalists who spent decades building Bolton up as the very       personification of evil are now eager to take even his most       absurd claims at face value so they can be used to attack       President Donald Trump.              The fact is that Bolton never resigned in protest over any       policy disagreement between himself and Trump. Bolton served for       a little over a year in the Trump administration before he got       fired for doing the same thing he’s done throughout his entire       career: trying to start useless and costly wars.              After playing an integral role in the George W. Bush       administration’s foolish war mongering, Bolton was deeply       fortunate (but apparently not grateful) that Trump took pity on       him and gave him a second chance.              Having blown that opportunity for redemption, all that lies       ahead for Bolton is profiteering off of his access to privileged       information and publicly airing his resentments for a partisan       audience.              Bolton might well be breaking the law by publishing this book       without proper authorization. He’s already facing a Justice       Department lawsuit to compel him to complete the normal review       process.              Bolton took one of the most senior jobs in the national security       apparatus of the United States and instead of treating that       honor with respect, he is choosing to debase his prior position       with this work of gossip.              OUR VIEW:Bolton's book shocks but doesn't surprise              Bolton better hope that he sells a lot of books: He is sure to       need the money for lawyers’ fees.              Under normal circumstances, trumped-up accusations like the ones       Bolton is making would be dismissed out of hand as politically       motivated hyperbole (at best) of a disgruntled, fired former       employee.              But these are not normal times. This is #resistance time. Hence,       Bolton’s fanciful tales are given credence because they play       into the hands of Trump’s enemies.              Anyone taking Bolton seriously cannot be serious themselves.              Boris Epshteyn, the strategic adviser for coalitions on the       Trump 2020 campaign, served in the White House as special       assistant to the president and assistant communications director       for surrogate operations.              https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/todaysdebate/2020/06/22/o       pposing-view-believe-bolton-you-cant-serious/3240179001/                      --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
