XPost: alt.gossip.celebrities, alt.politics.democrats.d, alt.global-warming       XPost: alt.rush-limbaugh, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       From: Phantom_View4@yahoo.com              Donald Trump Epitomizes the Republican Perversion of Real       Christian Values May 28, 2017 By Allen Clifton 1 Comment       Facebooktwitterpinterestmail              For years I’ve written about my belief that most Republicans       aren’t Christians. As a Christian myself, I’m offended by these       hypocrites who’ve warped and distorted my faith. This is a       political party supported by millions of people who all claim       to represent Christian values, while displaying absolutely       none. Individuals who truly seem to believe that Jesus Christ       would be some gun-loving, poor-folk-hating bigot who supported       their special, vile mix of hate, fear, paranoia, and ridiculous       conspiracy theories.                            Look no further than their embrace of Donald Trump. As I’ve       said plenty of times already, you cannot call yourself a       Christian and support Trump.              There’s absolutely nothing Christian about him — nothing.              Hell, he’s a living embodiment of the “Seven Deadly Sins”:               Lust: Has had at least one affair and multiple wives.        Gluttony: He’s not exactly in the best physical shape and        he frequently brags about all the money he supposedly has.        Greed: Again, he claims to be worth billions.        Envy: A small, petty person who’s not only clearly jealous        by how respected President Obama was (and still is), but        that his opponent in last year’s election, Hillary Clinton,        received 3 million more votes than he did. Wrath: Look no        further than former FBI director James Comey who was        apparently fired for not giving into Trump’s attempts to        obstruct justice. Pride: A man who wants to take credit for        everything positive, even if he had nothing to do with it,        while never… ever taking the blame for any of his failures.        Sloth: Has played an obscene amount of golf, while spending        many of his weekends at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.              Those are the cardinal sins within the Christian faith — and       Trump represents every single one of them in some way.              One of the most hypocritical parts to all of this is, during       last year’s GOP primary, conservatives had a legitimate former       minister (Mike Huckabee), the son of a preacher (Sen. Ted       Cruz), a staunch follower of the Seventh-day Adventist Church       (Ben Carson), and a candidate who refused to insult his       opponents, citing his Christian faith (Gov. John Kasich).              Yet who was the candidate who not only won the nomination while       leading the entire way, but was also supported by the majority       of evangelical “Christian” voters? None other than Donald J.       Trump. A man who has:               Committed adultery.        Been divorced twice.        Is on his third marriage.        Has five children from three different women.        Constantly brags about his supposed success and wealth.        Talked about the size of his penis during a presidential        debate. Constantly used childish and petty insults when        referring to political opponents. A tendency to lash out        and insult practically anyone he feels has slighted him in        some way. Lied about, and vilified, illegal immigrants.        Embraced bigotry and racism.        Put his support behind a budget that would cut $1 trillion        from Medicaid and food stamps. Endorsed a health care plan        that would take insurance away from 23 million people.        Mocked POWs.        Tried to slander a former Miss Universe by telling his        supporters to seek out her non-existent sex tape. Suggested        Ted Cruz’s father was part of the plot to assassinate JFK.        Bragged about being a sexual predator and assaulting women.              And that’s not even everything horrible Trump has said and done       — not even close.                            However, despite Trump being the least-Christian out of any of       the GOP presidential candidates, and being possibly the most       deplorable presidential candidate in history, over 60 million       Republicans, most of whom believe themselves to be       “Christians,” rushed out to vote him into office.              Let’s also not forget another example out in Montana where       Republicans voted for a man who physically assaulted a reporter       just before being elected to office by conservatives. (Just       thought I’d add that one in here since, you know, that was very       “Christian” of them.)              Sure, the Republican Party, and the millions of conservatives       who support it, can claim they’re “Christians” who follow       “Christianity” — but it’s all bullshit.              What is there within the GOP, or the values of these folks,       that is actually “Christian”? The only two real “religious”       aspects they cling to are gay marriage and abortion, two topics       of which Jesus Christ — the individual on which the faith is       based — never spoke.              And even if he had, that wouldn’t negate the fact that       practically nothing else about the party, or its values, come       close to those of actual Christianity. The Republican Party is       an organization that preaches greed, hate, fear, paranoia,       selfishness, and preys on the weak — none of that is remotely       Christian.              The simple truth is this, if Republicans, and the millions of       people who support the party, were truly followers of real       Christian values, there’s no way Donald Trump becomes their       party’s nominee, let alone our current “president.”              Except that’s exactly what happened — proving, once and for       all, Republicans and their supporters have done nothing but       pervert the true meaning of Christianity for their own selfish,       intolerant, hateful and ignorant beliefs.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
