   Every few years, Democrats rediscover something shocking: Americans don’t   
   like them. Not just die-hard Republicans. Not just Fox News viewers.   
   Normal, everyday people who work, pay taxes, believe that men can’t become   
   women, and think “Latinx” is a typo.   
      
   The latest wake-up call comes from a new report by a left-wing group   
   hilariously named “Welcome” – as in, “Welcome back to reality.” After   
   consulting hundreds of thousands of voters, the group found that 70   
   percent of Americans think the Democrat Party is out of touch.   
      
   Apparently, it took Democrats six months and a 60-page report to learn   
   what anyone outside of D.C. could have told them in five minutes: People   
   care more about paying rent and feeling safe than about DEI and   
   “environmental justice.” (This might be the biggest waste of time and   
   money since Democrats spent $20 million earlier this year to figure out   
   how to talk to men.)   
      
   According to Welcome’s study, most voters think Democrats obsess over   
   things like protecting the “rights” of men who claim to be women to shower   
   in female locker rooms while ignoring glaring crises like the murderous   
   hordes of illegal alien gang members running wild in our cities. But one   
   can hardly blame Democrats – it’s difficult to focus on homicide rates   
   when you’re busy debating whether to call expectant mothers “gestational   
   carriers” or “pregnant people.”   
      
   The report, written by Democrat operatives who seem to have finally left   
   their Georgetown brunch tables, warns that the party’s addiction to   
   progressive jargon and cultural crusades is killing them with working-   
   class voters. They’re doing just fine with wealthy white liberals – a   
   species found in the wild only at NPR pledge drives and Whole Foods   
   parking lots – but hemorrhaging support with everyone else.   
      
   The authors of “Deciding to Win” – yes, that’s the report’s actual title –   
   are begging Democrats to “break with unpopular party orthodoxies.” In   
   plain English, that means stop talking like lunatics.   
      
   For example, in the last decade, mentions of “fathers” in Democrat Party   
   platforms dropped by 100 percent. Language about specific racial groups   
   increased by 828 percent. Mentions of LGBTQ rights went up 1,044 percent.   
   At this rate, the 2028 platform will just be a TikTok dance and a land   
   acknowledgment.   
      
   That’s one reason, the authors say, that the average Democrat these days   
   sounds like a graduate student in Queer Theory, not someone who wants to   
   represent plumbers, cops, and working families. So, it’s no surprise that   
   union households and non-white voters – once the backbone of the left’s   
   coalition – are now fleeing the Democrat Party.   
      
   The report admits that since 2012, Democrats have gotten dramatically more   
   left-wing on everything. Support within the party for policies that are   
   unpopular with the broader public has skyrocketed, including on issues   
   like reparations (up from one percent support to 57 percent), voting   
   rights for felons (four percent to 41 percent), abortion without limits   
   (66 percent to 98 percent), and gun bans (41 percent to 88 percent).   
      
   Meanwhile, Democrats’ support among the very people they claim to fight   
   for has cratered. Apparently, defund the police and open borders didn’t   
   play well in the American heartland. Who could have possibly seen that   
   coming?   
      
   Of course, the left’s response to this report has been peak delusion. One   
   progressive strategist insists Democrats don’t need to change at all –   
   they just need to “reframe the issues.” In other words, if voters think   
   you’re crazy, it means they’re the dumb ones and you just need to talk   
   slower and louder to get through their thick skulls.   
      
   But the real problem is that Democrats don’t run a political party   
   anymore; they run a secular religion. Its sacraments are abortion, gender   
   ideology, and climate hysteria. Its priests are tenured academics and   
   unfunny late-night comedians. Its heretics are anyone who still believes   
   in God, biology, and common sense.   
      
   Instead of offering working people hope, they offer lectures. Instead of   
   fighting for cheaper, abundant energy, they promise “environmental   
   equity.” Instead of protecting kids, they pump them full of puberty   
   blockers.   
      
   That’s why a party that once claimed to represent the little guy now   
   represents a small and shrinking circle of elite, over-educated, self-   
   righteous scolds who think everyone else is a racist.   
      
   The authors plead for Democrats to stop alienating normal voters with   
   sermons about white privilege and microaggressions. But good luck with   
   that. These are the same geniuses who open every public event by   
   apologizing for meeting on the “stolen” land of indigenous peoples.   
      
   Democrats are shocked that their “emerging majority” has turned into a   
   much smaller “annoying minority.” Non-college white voters despise them.   
   Non-white voters no longer trust them. Even union workers – the few whose   
   jobs they haven’t shipped overseas with bad trade deals – are starting to   
   realize the party now speaks the language of holier-than-thou scolding,   
   not solidarity.   
      
   As Welcome politely puts it, Democrats are “over-prioritizing the   
   interests of highly educated and affluent voters.” In other words, they’ve   
   become the party of kale-eating atheists who have never changed a tire in   
   their lives, and it shows.   
      
   If Democrats truly want to “decide to win,” they might start by deciding   
   to stop sneering at regular Americans. Stop criminalizing normal behavior.   
   Stop treating patriotism as a hate crime. And maybe, just maybe, start   
   acting like they care about the people whose taxes pay for their endless   
   experiments in social engineering.   
      
   Until then, no report – no matter how many focus groups or “centrist”   
   Democrats it consults – will save them. Because the Democrat Party’s   
   biggest problem isn’t messaging. It’s a belief system built on delusion   
   and utter contempt for the American people.   
      
   Democrats aren’t losing support because voters misunderstand them. They’re   
   losing support because voters finally understand them perfectly.
