what was called "cyberpunk" fiction has a wide ranging diversity.. the
common thread through all of it was one simple theme, future shock.

the stuff evolved out of our difficulty adjusting to rapid change. i
don't know how old u are Edgar.. but i am old enough to recall a time
when i could not comprehend the concept of "the internet" .. when it was
all new.. and when none of it made any sense.

anyone who claims a different expierence is either lying, under 25, or
an old hacker from back when "hacker" was still a compliment.

everything changed, it was a massive shift.. the strain of this shift
created CP.. however its been 20 years now.. and CP is gone.

   why?

because nothing has stopped shifting. .. there is so much constant
change that change itself has become our idea of normal. so the things
u see in the media now that have "CP" roots (The Matrix, etc) are
nothing special.. its just the usual media hacks mining our culture for
more tired old bullshit to spoonfeed ur neighboors.

cyberpunk was about edge, and that edge has little to do with technology
anymore.. because technology is no longer shocking.. its a fact of life.

the PC is as common and invisible as the telephone.. they truly do not
   matter.

so.. IMO u do urself a disservice with the label "Post-CP" .. don't
bother paying homage to the dead.. this is the 21st century man.

creamte the fucker and move on.

the 1st email i ever wrote was to that address ^^

and i'll say this.. in 1989 he was a good guy.

pity his heart died before the rest of him.
