tiger, panther, jaguar? i'm 7 days into this apple deal.. so thier all
just words to me. i've got Mac OS X 10.3.5 .. apparently its Panther.

anyway.. i have been quite impressed so far.. i'd agree that thier a
little pricey. its not just the cost of the book itself.. its the
debilitating lust for Apple toys that takes over ur brain and wallett
once u have succumbed to thier cuteness.

I just spent 200$ on a sleeve for her. why? because i will not allow
my baby to be encased in something as shoddy as ballistic nylon. ohhh
no.. quilted satin and kevlar for her.

the g5's are nice.. i was looking yesterday. but .. personally i'd
probably just build a (far cheaper) pc and put linux on it. i can see
spending the extra $ on a laptop though. .. but on PC hardware i think
Gnome is fairly comparable to the gui on my mac.. least close enough for
   my tastes.
