   considering the genre was started by writers just writing stuff to begin   
   with ... maybe instead of looking to actively update the genre into   
   anything see what people are writing in regards to the genre ... with a   
   new style or old ... and go where that takes you.   
      
   The point is ... why the fuck are we "updating" it?? sounds like
