   As for political AI type shit check the anime "Armitage III". and of   
   course everyone's favorite "Ghost In The Shell" is all about messing   
   with AI and HumanMind alike.   
      
   As for what they might look like, I'd say the robot would be very close   
   to human simply because we've contructed a world that the human shape is   
   best apt to deal with and when making automation systems for that world   
   following our form would require the least amount of reengineering on   
   our part to have the robot function in the world already in place. That   
   and the familiar form would be more psychologically compatible as we're   
   probably more apt to "get along" with a humanoid robot than an "octopus   
   robot" ... unless you're in the porn industry in which case the octopi   
   robots might serve you better.
