This is possible, but just looking at say, web browsers. Used to be you
had your email program, and your newsreader (most of us still have them
as seperate progs) and then you had the web browser. One item,
   streamlined and functional. Works.

But people don't like so many things, especially since now they have to
store them everywhere if physical. People one to go out get one thing
and have it do many things. A robot that can vacuum, do the dishes, wash
the walls, get the mail and straiten the picture in the hallway you
knock sideways every time you run out the door. One robot with possibly
different attachments, or possibly the feet suck of dirt as it moves
around the room or something, and gain we're back to a humanoid form.

I'm not saying that the little robot dance ala Fifth Element with a
sweeper, washer, vaccumer, buffer robot quartet wouldn't be cool, or
have it's place but I do think it would eventually gravitate back to the
all-in-one model idea that everything we seem to make encompasses. And
the humanoid form would lend itself nicely to that.
