The all-in-one concept is fairly limited outside the computing
and communications world and even there you will find exceptions.
Unix philosophy is do one thing and do it well, while Microsoft
aims for the all purpose suites.

In the home, particularly in the kitchen, things are specialised
and the machine that washes clothes as well as dishes does not
appear to be that common. Even self cleaning machines are uncommon.

If you consider a humanoid frame you can still have plug-ins and
if the robot can share its tools with humans it would be handy.

I would expect robots to be heavily networked and loaded with
sensors. Security would also be an issue lest robots would be
   stolen or used for break-ins.

Nanotech changes everything, everything would be so self cleaning
and maintaining that robots would hardly be needed. Robots using
traditional mechanics are here today and advanced models is just
a question of time rather than major breakthrough.
