I ususally check in once a year around this time to see what's up.
Haven't seen a 1st generation poster since maybe 1996 (Terry
   Palfrey, I think).

As for the 2nd, I'm in touch with Nesta and Gene Mosberg, and of
   course, Sweet Poly.

As for .mpa, we had a falling out that never got resolved. I miss
Eyebrown, though and should re-establish a connection with him.
The rest are gone off somewhere, Obscurity, Baron Samedi, Lisa Walton,
the incomparable Pierre Pressure, Nightfly, Noivad, spidey, and more.
It's a surprisingly long list. Poly and I miss them all.

Nesta's in Chicago, .mpa in Pittsburgh, Gene in Okalhoma, and Poly and
I have recently moved to the high desert in SE Utah, what with the
end of civilization as we know it at hand and all.

Deane?! And I always wanted to be the Finn!

I see a few other names I recognize (Hi, Lev). Some 2nd generation
stopped by last summer...and, wow, two MMF posts. Some things never
   change.

I was wandering thru google's archive and noticed a lot of missing
altcp articles from the mid-90's and thought maybe to repost them
from my old archive, just to get them into google, but I don't know
what the group would think about that. Fershure some wouldn't notice
the dates and post follow-ups to posters who are long gone. If the
no archive bit isn't set, the original posters shouldn't 'mind.

I haven't re-activated my newsserver (and hope this posts), so don't
know what the volume here might be or how many are actually current
denizens. First thing I checked was crossposting. Last 1750 articles
are running 30% crossposts, which is not bad.

If any Rancheros are reading and would like to contact Poly or me,
post to the group, and we'll do some email.

If anyone would like to post an 'altcp current status' on subjects and
sentiment, that would be useful, too.
