   I would suggest that cyberpunk (finger-waggling stipulated to) is not   
   the way to go if you want to make a difference. The fact that you can   
   refer to nothing more precise than "the notion of cyberpunk" should be a   
   hint why. It's not your fault; I mean when this thread is ended there   
   will be nothing more on the table than what you brought to it: "the   
   notion of cyberpunk" -- different notions, some better or worse, but   
   just notions. Making a difference in the way you mean requires something   
   more apt to the task.   
      
   Cyberpunks I know who want to make a difference get involved politically   
   and socially. They take their cyberpunk with them into a broader   
   framework. Perhaps they can influence or imbue it with some useful   
   cyberpunk qualities; their skillsets are useful, too.

   It's a culture. People feel comfortable among their own, eat the same   
   sort of food, prefer the same sorts of things in general, think about   
   things from a similar perspective, and so on.   
      
   It's not a social movement, political party, or any sort of   
   organization. The specifics of a culture don't lead anywhere except to   
   itself.
