   Good point.  Condoms, pills, 69s, abstinence, etc. are much better   
   population control measures.  ;)  We humans just have to improve access   
   to all of them (make it easier to get condoms and pills and so on, attach   
   less stigma to non-reproductive sex positions, reduce the rates of forced   
   marriages and other rapes, etc.).

   That might have been the original purpose, but I heard that in a lot of   
   cases it's now more like *hazing* - a woman who's proud of being   
   mutilated cutting up her daughter or granddaughter so that the little one   
   can join the traditional-women club, while the father either figures "I'm   
   a guy, it's none of my business" or forbid mutilation but couldn't keep   
   an eye on his daughter 24/7.
