   CM Kornbluth & Fredrick Pohl
   The Space Merchants -- 1953
A look at Madison Avenue / MegaCorps running the world

Sequel by Fredrick Pohl -- The Merchant's War 1984

   CM Kornbluth & Fredrick Pohl
   Gladiator at Law -- 1955
dystopian look at the Stock Market in a Sprawl-like environment

   Simulacron-3 by Daniel F. Galouye 1964
the matrix before "the Matrix"... made into a bad movie "the 13th
Floor" gave me the creeps when i first read it in 1969 or so

Most of Phillip Dick's odd stuff... but I'm not really into dick (as
others are)[i will keep a straight face... i will keep a straight
face... i will keep a straight face...].

   Headcrash -- 1995 Bruce Bethke
Another go at CP satire. Not as fun as Snow Crash though it does have
   its moments

   Honorable Mentions but not cyberpunk:

   Metropolitan -- 1995
   City on Fire -- 1997
   Both by Walter Jon Williams
MagePunk without Elves. Both have the dark feel of CP 1930ish tech
mixed with geomancy and mana mixed with future tech and geneered
species (my guess is he was playing the fung shui RPG)

   Perdido Street Station -- 2000
   China Mieville
More MagePunk this time strongly influenced by Chaos Magick and the
Diabolical side of Aleister Crowley's Thelema

Thee is another book by the same author set in the same milieu. Have
not read it cannot recommend it.
