First, the issue of The Definition is rarely, if ever, raised by
any regular poster to this group (it is usually raised by 1) guys
doing their homework, 2) warez kiddies).

I don't think any regular poster here has a problem identifying
what is and is not cyberpunk, although there are disagreements
about this or that (I don't think Shockwave Rider is cp, but
   many here do, for example).

Try this experiment: this weekend rent the movie Brainstorm. It's
about the invention of SimStim and cracking corporate networks by a
small group going up against the government, military and the corps.

I don't think there is anything cyberpunk about it. It is not
a cp film or story even tho' it is full of computers, networks,
evil establishments, cracking, and rad technology. If you agree
with me that it is not cp, you may discover the definition of
cp by the shape of its absence in Brainstorm.
